Cancer
is so limited
It cannot
cripple love.
It
cannot shatter hope.
It
cannot corrode faith.
It
cannot destroy peace.
It
cannot kill friendship.
It
cannot suppress memories.
It
cannot silence courage.
It
cannot invade the soul.
It
cannot steal eternal life.
It
cannot conquer the spirit.

One Person's Journey
In
writing this, I hope to aid another person's journey with cancer and
to help it become a journey with a destination of hope and joy. For
I believe that this dance with cancer can become a powerful gift, a chance
to look at yourself with clear eyes, and perhaps, to make a few changes. If
nothing else, you can learn how to face fear so it no longer has power
over you, accept that death is one part of life and find the joy of living
simply in the present.
My heartfelt wish is that by me sharing my journey and some simple coping skills,
you might be able to see a small light on a very dark day, for I
have had those dark days also. Everyone who follows this path will
find themselves in darkness at some time. I learned to accept those
days while remembering that they won't last. That is called Hope. In
my mind Hope is is the most powerful word in our language. Love is
a potent ally of Hope. They work well together.
I encourage you to accept and use any parts of this guide that speak to your
heart. Don't worry about the rest. This is the time that you
are putting together your box of survival tools. Hold each new tool
in your hand, feel it's weight, evaluate it carefully. Try each one
out, but do it long enough so it's given a real chance. Then decide,
does it belong in your box of coping skills? Soon you will have
a magical tool box, made for only you that will allow you to fix anything. That's
the magic of this cancer dance. When it's done, you will be able
to dance any dance that life puts before you.
I send blessings to you.
Now, Dance.
